Here is a prediction: Scott Morrison will make more false claims about Labors tax policies in a speech to ACCI this evening.
How do we know this? Because thats what he does.
Scott Morrison needs to stop hiding by Treasury or other bodies in making false claims about Labor policies.
Weve seen him do it time and time again including recently suggesting the independent Parliamentary Budget Office had released new analysis on Labor policies, which was wrong and confirmed as such by the PBO.
Here we are, barely 18 months in from the last election, and the Treasurer maintains his obsession with Labors policies.
And every time he gets it wrong.
This comes off the back of Morrison using taxpayer money to mail-out his 80 page glossy to Australian CEOs and trumpeting Treasury analysis on inequality and wages growth that he is still refusing to release.
If the Treasurer wants to talk about taxes he should fess up to the fact that he increasing income taxes on seven million working Australians, while Labor opposes these extra taxes for low and middle income earners.
Scott Morrisons 2017 Budget included over $20 billion in new taxes over the forward estimates alone.
Theres still some time left for SloMo to make a few adjustments to his speech, focus on the facts of his government increasing taxes, and stop hiding behind and politicising the Treasury.
