Malcolm Turnbull needs to issue an apology to Australias war widows today for lying about Labors dividend imputation reforms.
Yesterday, thePrime Minister shamelessly and misleadingly used war widows in a highly partisan manner as he continued his scare campaignon Labors dividend imputation reforms.
Not only did the Government seek to mislead and frighten war widows for political gain based on a falsehood, the Prime Minister then repeated someones story in Parliament yesterday, concluding that they are the people the Labor Party is after.
The Government then encouraged newspaper journalists to hold interviews with the same war widow about the impact of Labors imputation cash payment reforms.
The problem is, those receiving the war widow pension are covered by Labors Pensioner Guarantee.
This is classic Malcolm Turnbull overreach, out there lying and trying to scare people who arent even affected by Labors reforms to dividend imputation.
The Prime Minister was happy to parade war widows before the media on false pretences. Then he was prepared to mislead the Parliament and lie to the Australian people.
Does he not have any standard? Does he not have any shame?
The Prime Minister needs to the honourable thing and apologise today.
Its time Malcolm Turnbull stopped telling lies about Labors policies and started telling the truth about his own.
